Our story

First coffee, then the world.

Marketplace Coffee is a proudly independent little shop on Hexham's historic Market Place, right beside the old covered market. It grew from a simple idea: that a small town deserves genuinely great coffee, not the generic stuff.

Claire and the team pour speciality beans (fika. is the house favourite), whisk matcha to order, and bake the cakes and loaves you see on the counter. The room is warm, the welcome is real, and regulars keep coming back because the standard never wavers.
